East Mississippi State Hospital's mission is to provide the highest level of health care services through integrated behavioral health programs. About the Position:
Second-level Human Resources professional position accountable for administering agency human resources programs, policies, and procedures related to recruitment and selection, classification, salary analysis, benefits, appointments, performance evaluation, training and development, and employee engagement. Provides consultation and advice to managers, supervisors and employees on human resources issues including grievances, investigations and employee relations issues. May exercise limited supervision over lower-level human resources staff. What you'll need to be Successful:
Administers human resources functions including recruitment, selection, classification, benefits, and employee appointments in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Provides guidance and consultation to managers, supervisors, and employees on HR matters such as employee relations, grievances, investigations, and policy interpretation. Coordinates and monitors the performance evaluation process to ensure timely and accurate completion in compliance with agency standards. Supports training and professional development initiatives by identifying needs, facilitating sessions, and tracking participation. Promotes employee engagement through active involvement in retention initiatives, morale programs, and workforce development strategies. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws and internal HR policies through regular monitoring and process updates. May provide oversight and support to entry-level HR staff, offering direction, training, and quality assurance on routine HR activities. Other duties as assigned.
