Position Summary:
Enfield Public Schools is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative
Human Resources Specialist
to support the Human Resources Director in managing and maintaining critical human resource functions. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of human resource operations across the district. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong customer service mindset and a commitment to supporting the district's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain personnel records and human resource information systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Oversee and ensure accuracy of employee accruals. Process employment verification requests and related documentation. Assist with management of FMLA paperwork to ensure regulatory compliance. Assist with timely communication regarding human resources policy and procedures to district personnel. Oversee and manage the applicant tracking system and other recruitment technologies to streamline the hiring process. Assist with job postings across various platforms to enhance visibility and appeal to potential candidates. Maintain a strong understanding of union and non-union employee rights and benefits. Collaborate with all members of the Human Resources Department to ensure a team-orientated environment and exceptional customer service. Uphold human resource confidentiality and professionalism in all matters. Support the vision and leadership of the Human Resources Director. Knowledge of certification(s) endorsements and application processes required by the state for certified positions. Assists with preparation of state and federal reports relating to personnel functions. Ensure and enforce compliance with all legal and regulatory agencies as it relates to safety, labor, wage/hour and employment laws. Assist with recruitment and hiring of certified and non-certified staff. Assist with processing requests for Leaves of Absence, Family Medical Leaves, and Sabbatical Leaves. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Human Resources Director. Qualifications:
Required: Multiple years of experience in human resources, preferably in a public school or educational setting Strong digital literacy and comfort with human resource information systems Excellent attention to detail and grammatical proficiency Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred: Experience with Tyler's MUNIS software Familiarity with Connecticut public school human resource practices and regulations Core Competencies:
