Summary
The Rail Loader is responsible for loading of customer vehicles in to tri-level / bi-level auto racks for the delivery of a damaged free product to off-loading destinations sites following the guideline set by the Association of American Railroads and Hyundai GLOVIS transportation and vehicle handling procedures.
Responsibilities
Load vehicles inside rail car.in accordance to the practices and standard of the Association of American railroads and Hyundai GL
Drive customers vehicles Walk long distances Use of hand tools Set up and store bridge plates Open/close and seal rail car door Ascend and descend rail car ladder (using 3 points of contact)
Follow Rules, Regulations and Procedures
Report all hazard/injuries/near misses to van driver or supervisor Communicate well with co-workers Perform tasks in safe manner Follow supervisor and van drivers given instructions Obey lead person, supervisor instructions Always must company attire.
Have a good understanding of daily tasks, and performing it in safe productive manner, without errors
Make sound decisions in preventing hazard to yourself and co-worker Perform all rail loading activities following AAR practices and standards Obey all OSHA, FRA, AAR, Hyundai Glovis transportation manual, local and State guidelines and regulations Properly wear safety equipment when working in and around rail Ascend and Descend utilizing 3 points contact rule on ladder and crossing over bridged plates Work in diverse weather conditions
Ability to work alone and team setting. Taking the initiative to perform duties with minimal supervision
Write down VIN numbers on verification sheet (with training and approval) Scan vehicle with scanning device (with training and approval) Spot/park vehicle inside rail cars (with training and approval) Operate loading ramp (with training and approval)
Maintain a good attendance record Compensation
$23.09 per hour

Ability to read and write Ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instruction Ability to record and verify numbers characters in length Ability to work independently and in crew settings Ability to work in confined quarters Ability to drive both automatic and standard shift vehicles Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by human resources Education & Experience
High School Diploma/GED 1 year experience preferred Must hold a valid Driver's license Physical Requirements

Typical outside environment based in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting. Must be comfortable working at heights (e.g., upper decks of rail cars) Must be comfortable operating loading ramp Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases accumulated inside rail car The position is based in a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment. Communication with employees and field partners will be primarily conducted via phone and email.
