Summary – Automation and Controls Technician
We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician with hands-on experience in PLC-based control systems to support field installations and upgrades of automated electrical panels.
This position involves extensive travel to client job sites to perform wiring, upgrades, and troubleshooting of PLC systems and related components including I/O, safety circuits. Programming is not required but the ability to assist in guided troubleshooting is essential.
Travel & Overtime Expectations- Automation and Controls Technician:
Must be willing to travel 100% and work extended OT hours July-November.
Holiday break starts mid-November, work resumes early January.
This is a 3+ year project with potential for growth and long-term employment.
Responsibilities
- Automation and Controls Technician:
Travel to job sites to perform upgrades on existing PLC-based control boxes
Report to Bentonville, AR office to collect tools, supplies, and company vehicle
Wire and reconfigure PLC I/O in control panels; maintain clean, well-organized layouts
Perform guided troubleshooting and basic adjustments with remote support
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel layouts
Work closely with on-site electricians and spotters to complete tasks safely and efficiently
Maintain consistent communication with project managers and field supervisors
Ensure each installation meets company quality and safety standards
Complete each assignment on schedule before proceeding to the next job
Qualifications
- Automation and Controls Technician:
3-5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial control systems and panel wiring
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC hardware (programming knowledge a plus, not required)
Able to read and interpret control schematics and wiring diagrams
Experience working with VFDs, HMIs, and safety switches
Highly organized and attentive to detail in tight wiring environments
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Able to pass a 7-year background check and clean drug panel (CBD/THC not tested)
Willing and able to travel regularly and work extended hours July – November.
