GENERAL DUTIES: Performs as working supervisor of a custodial operation SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of an administrator SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Exercises supervision over custodial personnel
Pre-employment physicals are required for this position and paid for by the District.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES collects and disposes of garbage; sweeps and dust mops rooms; cleans, repairs, changes filters and other equipment under the supervision of head custodian; stripping and scrubbing of floors; finishing and refinishing all types of floors; grounds care and irrigation; dusting rooms and furniture, wet mopping; cleaning sinks; washing walls; cleaning lights; moving furniture, supplies, books, etc; cleaning woodwork, cleaning school grounds; replacing light tubes and bulbs; washing interior and exterior glass; pest control, painting floors; etc., as requested and within person's abilities; washing exterior of the building; housekeeping equipment care; shovel snow; buff floors; cleans bathrooms daily; assists head custodians in boiler operation and other like duties as required; cleans chalkboards and erasers; reports to head custodians any damage, malfunctions of equipment, and any other information needed by head custodian; acts as a substitute for head custodian. Performs duties and related tasks in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with the Billings Public Schools safety policies and in compliance with the Montana Safety Culture Act. Performs other related duties as requested by head custodian and/or administrator.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, machinery and supplies, cleaning techniques, some knowledge of supervision. ABILITIES: Ability to perform heavy physical activity; to operate cleaning equipment and machinery; to maintain effective work relationships; to communicate effectively; to deal with public. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in custodial work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience;
