Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, solution-oriented Maintenance Technician to join the Ruby Jewel team. This role is essential to maintaining the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment and facility. The Maintenance Technician will support daily production by conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and helping ensure that our production lines run smoothly and safely.
This position works cross-functionally with operations and production staff and plays a vital role in upholding our food safety, quality, and sanitation standards. Candidates must be mechanically inclined, proactive, and ready to get their hands dirty in a fast-paced, team-oriented food manufacturing environment.

Principal Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all mechanical equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, ice cream and packaging equipment. Ensure general upkeep and repair of the manufacturing facility, office, and surrounding grounds. Assist with layout and installation of new equipment, including basic design or reconfiguration as needed. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of spare parts and critical supplies. Create, follow, and update preventative maintenance schedules for all facility equipment. Maintain accurate and timely records of maintenance activities and repairs. Work collaboratively with production to meet throughput goals and minimize downtime. Actively participate as a member of the sandwich line team during high-volume production times or as needed. Ensure all maintenance practices align with food safety regulations and internal quality standards. Provide support to outside contractors or inspectors when on-site. Communicate effectively with team members, managers, visitors, and contractors. Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
The position is a production team position within a food manufacturing environment which may at times require the following:
Work in an environment that includes exposure to allergens such as nuts, dairy, gluten, and latex. Operate and maintain both automated and manual equipment (e.g., continuous freezers, packaging equipment, liquid nitrogen tunnel). Use manual and powered lifts and hand/power tools (e.g., drills, knives, hammers). Handle and safely use hazardous chemicals. Stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time throughout a shift. Lift up to 50lbs occasionally. Work in cold storage or refrigerated environments as needed. Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
High School diploma or GED required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Mechanical aptitude and experience in a production or manufacturing setting preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to be added to company vehicle insurance. Ability to pass a background check. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. English fluency required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
