POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing support to the Process Tech in the effective operation of the equipment on their respective shift. The Lead Maintenance Technician will be the primary respondent to technical problems that arise on each shift, including process, quality, and production issues. The position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled. The position will also be involved with various technical projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Process Tech in ensuring that all of the staff is adhering to company policies and work procedures.

Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are part of everyone’s daily work habits.

Assist the Mold Setter and Process Tech on mold changes in the most efficient manner possible.

Make process adjustments as needed with approval from the Process Technician.

Completion of preventive maintenance activities as scheduled.

Complete various projects as required.

Continual communication with Process Tech, Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and support staff to insure continuity of efforts.

Other assignments as designated by the Maintenance Manager.

Train, guide, and direct other Maintenance Technicians through PM’s, project, and repair work.

Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Strong leadership ability and a high degree of ethical and professional standards. Must be trusted by subordinates, peers, and superiors, and must be willing to accept responsibility for their performance.

2 year degree in a Maintenance Field of study or equivalent work experience is required.

Must have own tools, as a minimum see attached Maintenance Tool List.

Ability to stand for 12 hours.

Requires a commitment to continuous improvement in order to meet ever increasing demands for improved quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Strong problem solving skills of both the interpersonal, and the technical side of the operation.

Organized and structured approach to the work environment, with strong attention to details.

Competency

Requires a minimum of a 2-year degree in a Maintenance field of study or equivalent work experience.

Requires a minimum of 70% on testing of, Electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic, Mechanical, Welding/cutting, tooling, and Environmental.

Requires a Crane operating license.

Requires a Fork Lift operating license.

Requires a minimum score of 70% on the Lock out – Tag out (LOTO) Test.

PHYSICAL REQUIIREMENTS:

Movement : Standing for up to 8 hours, easily able to walk short distances up to 1000 feet, reasonably sitting and bending as required.

Lifting : Carrying, pushing, and pulling carts/packages within the factory up to 30 lbs.

Hand-eye coordination : Using hands to feel, handle, or finger objects, or to reach with arms

Vision : Being able to see and respond to dangerous situations, close visual acuity to perform computer-based work, reading drawings, inspecting parts.

Hearing : Being able to hear and respond to sounds

Manual dexterity : Being able to move objects and assemble parts using limbs with good coordination, able to enter data into a computer using a keyboard.

Balance : Being able to move safely within the factory and office areas

Driving:

Be able to drive to and from customer / supplier locations

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Lead Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Third Shift: 10:15 pm - 6:45 am
