Overview
At Discount Plumbing, we're offering a unique opportunity for a driven leader to develop alongside a top-performing General Manager and gain hands-on experience running a successful trades business before stepping into a General Manager role of your own.
You'll start by owning a department within one of our most successful brands, where you'll gain hands-on experience in managing operations, driving financial results, and leading people. Once ready, you'll transition into a leadership role at a newly acquired brand, where you'll play a key role in everything from hiring and team development to financial strategy, operational improvements and long-term growth.
What You'll Do Train under an experienced General Manager and learn operating playbook Take ownership of a department and lead day-to-day operations Develop and execute strategies to drive key performance metrics Deliver a "gold standard" of service through coaching, training, accountability and data-driven decision-making Build a high-performance culture that fosters engagement, retention, and team development Lead efforts to grow the team and create upward mobility through skill development and career pathing Manage financial activities including budgeting and forecasting, with full accountability for P&L performance What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience leading teams Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Direct P&L ownership preferred, or strong operational exposure Playbook-driven leadership style with a bias for action Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills High energy, adaptability, and a proven ability to deliver results Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Deep respect for the Skilled Trades or similar people-focused industries What We Offer Full relocation support Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k) matching A clear path to General Manager Entrepreneurial growth within a high-performing national platform Our Core Values Embrace a Growth Mindset - We never stop learning and evolving. Qualifications
3+ years Management/Supervisory experience required (Home Services, Sales Manager, Construction Management, or Military Leadership experience) 3+ years' experience managing revenue, budgeting and/or P&L required Leader in current field of work Skilled Trades and/or Residential Services experience a plus Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to apply critical thinking, risk analysis and develop solutions Salary & Benefits:
General Managers typically earn $80,000 - $100,000 in their first year, with financial upside as the business grows Base Salary + Commissions Full Medical coverage and many other insurances including Dental, Vision, disability, Life, etc. 401K Matching PTO and Paid Holidays Responsibilities
Financial:
Development and execution of strategy producing revenue Impacts and increases key metrics including conversion percentage, average invoice, PM plans Customer Satisfaction:
Implement systems, training and accountability to be " gold standard " with service and quality Impact and improve key metrics including NPS, reduction of callbacks. etc Employee Development:
Create culture and systems to teach, train and develop an industry leading staff Increase and impact employee retention at all levels and eNPS Impact and advise succession planning and career progression development programs Continuously seek and apply feedback to build a
