Waverly Heights is currently seeking a Full Time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team. Waverly's Therapeutic Recreation Specialists play a crucial role in the compassionate care by enhancing the well-being of our residents. If you are a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who enjoys making a difference by helping to design and implement interactive programs for our residents that provide opportunities for meaningful emotional and social engagement, please apply! Daily responsibilities of this position include:
assisting Director of Therapeutic Recreation in planning recreational activities and special events representing the Therapeutic Recreation department at Interdisciplinary Care Conferences assisting with completion of activities assessments (as assigned) distributing activity calendars to residents creating and posting daily activity sheets in the nurses' stations ensuring necessary supplies are available for activities documenting participation in resident activities Our Therapeutic Recreation Specialist are scheduled 40 hours per week. Certification in recreational therapy or Music Therapy and/or previous experience working in Therapeutic Recreation is preferred. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional customer services skills, a positive attitude, work well in a team environment, and have the ability and willingness to learn.
