Position Description The Town of Marana is seeking a
Maintenance Associate III position
to work in the Public Works Department with the Street Maintenance Hot Shot Division. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment. The Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our community's health, safety, and comfort.
Normal Work Hours:
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Location:

Expected Hiring Range
:
$20.65/hr. - $25.30/hr. Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity, and/or budget Salary Range:$20.65/hr. - $29.94/hr.
Examples of Duties
Leads work crews performing general roadway maintenance Performs routine skilled maintenance and/or landscaping tasks, such as vegetation control, tree removal, and herbicide spraying, inspects, cleans, and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems. Assures safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site Tracks and manages work orders, workflow flow and supplies Assists with removal and replaces concrete by operating light equipment; cutting and breaking out damaged concrete, setting forms and prepares subgrade, pouring and finishing concrete Assists with storm water maintenance such as storm channel cleaning, culvert cleaning and watching contractors during storm maintenance Assists with removal and replaces asphalt; cuts asphalt, prepares subgrade, installs new asphalt, crack seals roads Transports and operates equipment: skid steer, Loaders, gannon, backhoe, kick broom, and steel/rubber rollers Sets up traffic control devices Inspects and maintains equipment, blue staking, inventory, and processes work orders in Cartegraph Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training Over three (3) years of street construction/maintenance/landscaping experience or closely related field Valid Arizona Driver License AZ Certified Pesticide Applicator License or must obtain within 6 months of employment Must pass a pre-employment physical, a 50-pound lift test Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
AZ Certified Pesticide Applicator License plus over three (3) years of street construction/maintenance/landscaping experience Experience working in a Municipality/Government setting
