Position Description The Town of Marana is seeking a

Maintenance Associate II

to work in the

Public Works Department with the Traffic Division . This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment, performing manual labor tasks in a wide variety of maintenance and construction work. The Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our community's health, safety, and comfort.

Normal Business Hours: 7:00 - 3:30 5 days a week with mandatory rotating on-call

Expected Hiring Range:

$19.12/hour - $23.42/hour Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget Salary Range: $19.12/hour - $27.73/hour

Examples of Duties

Performs routine Standardized-skilled maintenance of traffic control signage and pavement markings, and/or landscaping tasks; uses a variety of hand and power tools; inspects, cleans and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems. Provides service to internal and external customers. Performs work duties and operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Utilizes asset software management software to track work orders and supplies. Sets up and removes temporary traffic control. Pulls wire for signals and fiber optic cable. Assembles and dismantles traffic signal equipment. Observes and reports on traffic conditions. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency. Over one (1) year of traffic control experience, or street construction/maintenance experience, or closely related field. Valid Arizona Driver License. Must complete a pre-employment physical including audiogram and pass a 50-pound lift test. Complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check. Obtain temporary traffic control certification within one year of hire.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Temporary traffic control certification.
