Job Function

Reporting into the Production Manager, the Maintenance Technician I - Entry position will be based out of New Castle, DE and will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings along with supervising personnel in the maintenance department.

Responsibilities

Safety first and contributing to the safety culture Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical problems. Observes machines in operation and uses diagnostic skills to locate and make repairs. Conducts equipment repairs in a timely manner to maintain operational efficiency. Performs light fabrication and welding as needed. Lubricates and cleans parts and cleans around work areas. Moves and installs machines and related equipment. Maintains building and related systems as required. Monitors the use of inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment hardware to maintain cost. Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipates and solves problems in a timely manner, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Regularly operate forklifts. Responsible for keeping process area clean. Meet written expectations of management. Housekeeping duties, such as running sweeper in maintenance, production, warehouse, and plant parking areas, and general clean-up. Hand-sweep, shovel, and/or wheelbarrow as directed. Operational assistance as required in production, bagging, warehouse, and shipping areas. Clean up material and return to proper ore piles, containers, and/or trash area as directed. Work in a neat and orderly manner and minimize loss. Perform other shipping and receiving duties as assigned to maintain an efficient operation. Required Experience

High school graduate or GED equivalent with strong math skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work orders. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude. A strong sense of self-motivation and the ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills. Forklift Certified or experience. Preferred Experience

Supply Chain Management or a related field is a plus.
