PRN, weekday day shift only, no weekends and no on-call requirement History: Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital. Summary Of Responsibilities

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic sonographic procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating ultrasound equipment, capturing quality images, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure. The technologist works collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality imaging services. Key Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. Operate ultrasound machines and adjust settings for optimal image quality. Analyze sonographic images and provide preliminary findings to interpreting physicians. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure understanding. Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond to any adverse reactions. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging data in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Ensure ultrasound equipment is clean, well-maintained, and in good working order. Assist in maintaining supplies and ensuring the availability of necessary materials. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other clinical staff. Stay current with developments in ultrasound technology and participate in continuing education. Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or an accredited Radiologic Technology program that included cross training in Ultrasound. Licenses/Certificates: 1. ARDMS certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, echo or Radiologic Technologist with ARRT sonography certification. 2. CPR certification for Health Care Providers. Experience: 1. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a sonographer (new graduates will be considered depending on training). 2. Experience with a variety of ultrasound modalities (abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts) is a plus. Skills: 1. Ability to operate ultrasound equipment. 2. Ability to take vital signs. 3. Ability to maintain quality control standards. 4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 5. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers. 7. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people. 8. Excellent telephone skills. 9. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging. 10. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. 11. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy, stressful or emergency situations. 12. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing. 13. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Mission Statement
