Overview
The
Ice Operations Manager
oversees, supervises, and coordinates the daily ice operations of the venue. This includes but is not limited to ice maintenance and repair, resurface upkeep, edge work, equipment safety, and general facility maintenance (HVAC, water treatment, etc.). The individual in this role will manage the main Arena ice (when in Sept.-April) and the Community Ice Rink (year-round). The ice rinks are currently used by the USHL Omaha Lancers, AAA Youth Hockey, Omaha Hockey Club and various other groups and organizations. Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting with administrative planning, direction, and policy guidance, ensuring the highest standards of service and ice conditions.
This role pays an annual salary of $55,000-$60,000

Responsibilities Oversees daily operation and maintenance of the ice rinks to ensure the highest quality ice surface on two ice rinks; including, glass and dasher board maintenance, cleaning, edge work, ice thickness, quality control, general HVAC knowledge, and water treatment. Proven ability in operating ice resurfacers and conducting the necessary preventative maintenance. Select, train, motivate, schedule, and evaluate part time ice staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures. Responsible for ice surface installation and removal; including ice painting, in-ice logo installation. Work in partnership with the Director of Operations on general building maintenance and projects. Responsible for changeovers from non-ice events back to ice. Help manage the skate shop; including inventory/ pricing of items we sell. Participate in the development and administration of the facility's operations and capital budgets; forecast additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary. Responsible for Health & Safety compliance. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve ice operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations that use our ice facilities. All other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, AGM or GM. Qualifications
3+ years' experience in ice and facility operations. B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited college/university preferred. Must show demonstrated knowledge of ice maintenance, ice resurface operations, supervisory skills and experience in facility operations. Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Knowledge of OSHA requirements. Knowledge of ice making, ice painting, in-ice logo installation. Capable of operating in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook. Ability to supervise the work of others. Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment, Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. Must possess current and valid driver's license. Excellent customer service skills.
