Custodian - 2nd Shift at the 5/6/7th Grade Center

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Director of Planning, Operations, and Facilities and School Principal, to provide responsible daily custodial operations, maintaining a sanitary and safe facility for students, employees and the public; minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure; ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner and overseeing and supporting assigned custodians in the performance of their assignments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Cleans assigned school facilities for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe work environment. Delivers various items and materials for the purpose of ensuring adequate supplies to the appropriate parties. Inspects school facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in clean condition, and identifying necessary repairs. Meets with principals and custodians to provide reports on building needs and conditions. Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintaining a functioning educational environment. Checks buildings and grounds to ensure that they are properly cleaned. Works with school district employees, service companies and contractors to maintain and improve the work environment. Works with school principals or designee developing work orders. Trains assigned personnel for the purpose of developing professional trade and safety awareness skills. Pulls and delivers teacher supply requests in a timely manner. Keep all storage, custodial office, and mechanical rooms clean and organized. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. Must be able to report to work in inclement weather which includes flooding and snow. Must be able to perform snow removal responsibilities which includes -shoveling, snow blowing, and salting (lift bag of salt) when assigned. Able to drive an automobile, van, or light truck. Report cleaning inspection deficiencies to supervisor. Performs any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations or their designee. Must attend all mandatory meetings (e.g. safety, training and communications). Must contact supervisor in emergency situations and follow the emergency response chart. Performs any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations or their designee. Educational Level:

High School Diploma or GED, and/or vocational trade school graduate, or equivalent experience.

Available:

August 25, 2025 Position Schedule:

Monday - Friday. 12 months (260-262 days), 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Compensation:

$23.50/hour plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid holidays, paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program.

External applicants must submit Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release form; have current Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances (dated within 1 year of start date); as well as a current health record and tuberculosis test to be eligible to start employment.
