Location : hybrid, 2-3 days/week onsite in NYC (FiDi - with sweeping bay views!)

Comp : $127-156K base salary + equity (options)

Our client - a thriving, established Benefits/Payroll tech company focused on empowering SMBs - is hiring a midlevel Product Designer, Growth who demonstrate both strong UX and visual UI design craft. You'll join a team of 30+ Product Designers, with opportunities for both autonomy and mentorship. The VP of Design is one of our absolute favorites - he's highly respected for building and expertly curating high-impact teams and raising the design bar, as well as the visibility and impact of Design at every organization he joins!

They provide SMBs - including many in the tech industry - high-quality, enterprise-level health insurance and payroll tools that smaller businesses and their employees wouldn't otherwise have access to.

They're currently at ~1300 total employees, with 30+ Product Designer and Content Designers, and have doubled their Product org in the last 2 years. They're now adding a full suite of products to their already well-known core product, so they're in a great place for continued growth and visibility.

What's happening there in Design:

They brought in their first-ever VP Experience Design last year who we've known for years and absolutely trust. His arrival there is a great signal for the company's serious investment in Design and respect for the discipline, and he's successfully raised its visibility and influence throughout the org.

We've helped this VP grow his teams through the years and have seen firsthand how his design teams adore and trust him. He's empathic, strategic, supersmart, and a thought leader in the space. Plus, he's got a great sense of humor - which makes for a super enjoyable work vibe!

This role:

They're seeking a fulltime, midlevel Product Designer with Growth / Acquisition experience, preferably at a b2b or b2b2c company and/or a company with a subscription-based model, but they're open to ALL midlevel Growth PDs who have a successful track record of increasing customer acquisition and conversion (from being free to paid subscribers, for example), improving acquisition funnels, conducting A/B testing in an experimental framework, creating upselling flows, designing landing pages, and has worked closely with Marketing and other teams in a x-functional, collaborative manner, and ideally has the data and metrics to show for their efforts.

While this role is full stack UX/UI, someone with an impeccable sense of Visual Design craft is especially well-placed here.

They like folks who are largely autonomous and can work quickly and iteratively, and, you'll receive mentorship and guidance from skilled leadership, amidst an environment where it's OK to take risks and "fail" in order to get to the best solution.

What you'll get to do in this role:

Design across the product development lifecycle, from discovery to launch (and post-launch iteration!) Take ownership of Growth / Acquisition design Collaborate closely cross-functionally with other designers, marketers, product managers, researchers, data scientists, and engineers, to identify and define design problems Utilize user research, testing, and data analysis to understand user behavior and inform design decisions Validate design decisions through rapid prototyping and experimentation Contribute to the internal design system with consistency and efficiency in mind And more exciting work as it crops up! The ideal candidate has:

3-5+ years of relevant Product Design experience, with at least 1-2 years of Growth / Customer Acquisition / top of funnel experience Experience designing onboarding flows, landing pages, end to end product design that increases customer base at a b2b / b2b2c / or subscription-based company (b2c is potentially OK too!) Equal comfort with UX + UI Design, with an emphasis on Visual UI, as well as the ability to conduct UX Research and talk to users directly Obsession with visual design craft and a meticulous eye for detail (ie: typography, hierarchy, etc) Brand Design / Marketing Design experience is a big plus but not required A portfolio of multiple, relevant projects that have launched - with success metrics to show the results Ideally, your case studies show results / impact / success metrics of your work, for both the business AND the end user. Team oriented, with the instinct to share "early and often", holding nothing too precious Salary : 127-156K USD base annually + plus options + benefits (including flexible PTO!)
