The

Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind

(USDB) invites you to consider an employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a meticulous and responsible candidate to fill a part-time Custodian position working in Salt Lake City.

*Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.*

Roles and Responsibilities:

maintain buildings and facilities in a clean and orderly condition remove snow from sidewalks, doorways, etc. as needed clean and maintain floors, dust, wax and polish furniture, wash windows, mirrors and other glass or plastic items empty trash and garbage clean walls and bathrooms, etc. clean and disinfect areas and equipment set up and arrange tables and chairs repair, clean, adjust and/or performs preventive maintenance on equipment, tools, machinery, etc. and perform other duties as assigned. May be required to clean at multiple facilities daily. Minimum Requirements: The model candidate for this position is someone who has experience:

Performing maintenance knowledge of housekeeping practices. Knowledge of housekeeping practices, techniques and procedures. Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions. Use cleaning agents, products and equipment. Maintain and/or repair tools and equipment.

Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc. The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing of tall ladders, long periods of standing and walking, recurring bending, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, and recurring heavy lifting over 50 pounds. Travel to various USDB locations may be required. Successful completion of a criminal background check contingent upon employment. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
