Position: Residential Counselor
Location: Owings Mills, MD (Multiple Sites Across Baltimore County) Job Type: Part-Time | Non-Exempt Hourly Rate: $17.00 – $19.00 Work Setting: In-Person | Group Homes Coverage Areas: Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Randallstown, Towson, Baltimore City & County

As a Residential Counselor, you’ll be at the heart of that mission — providing hands-on support, guidance, and compassion in a residential group home environment.

✅ What You’ll Do
Support individuals with daily living needs: hygiene, meals, medication, and mobility
Promote independence through skill-building, routine development, and positive reinforcement
Provide emotional support and behavioral redirection following individualized plans
Lead and assist with recreational outings, community engagement, and life enrichment activities
Complete daily documentation, incident reports, and health updates accurately and on time
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and family supports
Drive individuals safely to appointments or activities (if needed)
Keep a clean, organized, and respectful living environment
Shift Availability (Based on Program Needs)
Saturday & Sunday Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday Swing Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday Overnights: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Flexibility is a must! We operate multiple group homes across the county. Staff must be open to working at any location based on coverage needs.
Bring These Qualities With You
At least 1 year of experience in direct care, mental health, or a related field
Age 21+ with reliable transportation
Comfortable working with individuals with behavioral and medical needs
Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
Calm under pressure and always respectful
Willingness to go the extra mile for someone who needs it
Before You Apply — Be Interview Ready
To be considered, you must submit valid and current copies of the following:
CPR & First Aid Certification
MANDT Certification
Certified Medication Technician (CMT)
DDA Training (including online modules)
Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
Sexual Abuse/Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
Location Requirements
Must be able to commute to Owings Mills, MD (Required)
Willing to relocate before starting (Preferred)
