Matrix Plastic Products is seeking a
3rd shift (night shift) , hands-on, motivated, and experienced
Maintenance Technician
to join our injection molding team and coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance across primary machines and ancillary equipment. The
Maintenance Technician
is responsible for supporting production in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing all injection molding machines (including Engel, Plus-tech, Shibaura, JSW, and Wittmann machines), Yushin robots, chillers, thermolators, dryers, granulators, etc. The role will coordinate with outside vendors and also support automation integration efforts as needed. Applicable technical training also available through Matrix during employment.
Requirements:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and coordinate repair of all major equipment systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on injection molding machines, robots, and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
Limit production downtime through efficient and effective efforts
Perform PMs on all injection molding machines and equipment
Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment
Provide detailed instructions to others on how to repair or maintain equipment
Properly wire control cabinets to a schematic diagram
Additional Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the automation team
Identify and implement improvements to production to create cost reductions and improve performance
Recommend cost-effective risk mitigations and equipment redundancies to support production uptime
Complete all repair work on time and within budget
Coordinate ordering of replacement parts and installation
Oversee machine calibration
Must have basic knowledge in Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills both verbally and written
Complete special projects as needed
Perform the installation of new equipment and or relocation of equipment
Is observant to the condition of all machines and equipment
Required Skill/Knowledge:
Previous experience maintaining or installing plastic injection molding machines & ancillary processing equipment: 5+ years (Required)
Experience with electrical systems and schematics
Experience with material conveyor systems and dehumidification systems
Able to understand machine manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
Know how to use a multimeter/multitester/VOM
Mechanical aptitude
Reliability & strong work ethic
Ability to train others
Ability to follow company procedures and work instructions
Skills/ Knowledge:
Experience in programming automation equipment
Good math skills

Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $30-35/hr, depending on experience.
