The Maintenance Technician II role is to troubleshoot, repair, proactively maintain and enhance all current production and facilities related equipment with focus on mechanical, electrical and controls systems. As well as install and modify equipment in support of production and facilities.
This position requires proactive engagement in operational processes and statuses, with a focus on identifying opportunities to execute tasks that add value, as well as continually seeking opportunities for improvement. It involves overseeing and verifying the work performed by external contractors.
Shift: 6pm-6:30am 2-2-3 Schedule
Pay Information
Maintenance Tech II starts at $35.00/hr
Shift Differential is $1.00 for night shift

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Technical College/Vocational school certificate or degree in related areas of industrial maintenance
Experience/Qualifications
Required:
1+ year of experience in a Maintenance Tech 1 position with Hill's and successful completion of the Maintenance Tech 2 Certification.
OR
3+ years of experience in a food grade industrial maintenance setting.
OR
5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Both internal and external candidates must earn a passing score on either the Mechanical or Electrical SMT Test

Advanced ability to understand and follow safety protocols to Safely Complete Job Duties
Proficient ability to troubleshoot and repair Mechanical Systems
Proficient ability to troubleshoot and repair Conveyance, and Pneumatic and Liquid Transfer Systems
Proficient ability to troubleshoot and repair Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems
Proficient ability to troubleshoot and repair Electrical Distribution Systems (480V and lower)
Proficient ability to troubleshoot and repair Electrical Systems and Devices
Proficient ability to troubleshoot and repair Control Systems including Components and Instrumentation
Ability to assist with using the PLC to troubleshoot and replace PLC Components
Ability to Weld, Fabricate, and Pipe Fit, including but not limited to:
welding; Acetylene and Plasma cutting, Mig, Arc
fabrication; Drilling, Grinding, Shear
piping; threading, hanging, aligning, and connecting
Ability to use a Computer to complete required SAP transactions, review reports, and perform technical research
Strong Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills, including but not limited to:
maintaining effective and professional communication, both verbally and written, with peers, personnel from other departments, and department leaders
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $35.00 - $36.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
