We offer competitive market pay and opportunities for bonus depending on great work performanceComprehensive Employee Benefits: Full and Part Time employees are eligible for various plans for medical, dental, and vision insurance.POSITION SUMMARY:Delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to patients with real or potential life threatening illnesses presenting for care. Collaborates with the medical staff and other disciplines in order to facilitate patient care. Accountable for the smooth, effective and efficient functioning of the unit, with minimal direction from the department head. Supervises and instructs department's nursing personnel for assigned shift. Ensures that the department's nursing staff complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital and that age/developmentally appropriate care is given in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the patient. Provides input to Director/CNO regarding hires, staff performance issues/needs, and employee schedules. Has the authority to transfer, suspend, terminate or discipline other employees. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, JCAHO, and the Nurse Practice Act. Is responsible for the planning and execution of the educational needs of the department. Due to necessity he/she will be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty, thus this is an hourly position.CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):Current Florida RN LicenseCurrent BLS CertificationExcellent physical assessment and critical-thinking skillsPositive affect, demonstrated leadership and time-management skillsEffective oral and written communication skills in the English languageVisual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological conditionAbility to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment
