Position Information Title: Multimedia Specialist (Videographer/Photographer)

Position Summary Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking a creative and skilled Multimedia Specialist with strong experience in both videography and photography to support the University's mission and strategic goals through engaging visual storytelling. This individual will plan, shoot, and edit compelling content for a wide range of platforms, including web, social media, and print, as well as internal and external marketing and communications.
This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and has a passion for telling stories that uplift students, celebrate the university community, and promote enrollment, fundraising, and brand visibility.
Reports to Direct Report to: Vice President of University Communications and Marketing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, film, and edit high-quality videos for use in marketing, enrollment, advancement, and internal communications. Cover events and conduct interviews, capture b-roll, and create short-form and long-form content tailored to specific audiences and platforms (e.g., social media, website, admissions, and donor communications). Edits and delivers final video content that incorporates motion graphics and comparable assets for optimal and contemporary outputs. Including but not limited to digital recruitment marketing, highlight video testimonials, outcomes-oriented features, and compelling storytelling. Manage audio, lighting, and other technical components of video production. Prepare content for Video News Releases for media-earned coverage. Capture dynamic and brand-aligned photographs of events, people, campus life, and staged shoots. Provide photo coverage of university events with students, faculty, staff, alumni, community partners, ceremonies, and marketing or fundraising campaigns. Edit and retouch images for print, web, social platforms, and media releases. Organize and archive media assets following each shoot. Edit and optimize multimedia content to meet technical specifications and brand guidelines. Add music, graphics, captions, and visual effects as needed. Work closely within the Communications and Marketing team to understand and convey messaging goals and creative direction. Collaborate with departments such as Admissions, Advancement, and Academic Affairs to meet multimedia needs. Communicate and collaborate with students, faculty, staff, volunteers, and senior leadership to bring out their best as photo or video subjects. Support live streaming and multimedia event coverage as needed. Maintain organized digital asset libraries. Manage equipment inventory and ensure gear is properly maintained. Education and Experience Minimum
Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Production, Communications, Film, Photography, or related field-or equivalent professional experience 3 + years of professional experience in both video production and photography. Proficiency with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, audio recording equipment, lighting, and studio setups. Experience creating content for digital platforms, including social media, YouTube, and websites. Preferred
Experience in higher education or mission-driven organizations. Knowledge of live streaming setups and software. Animation or motion graphics experience FAA drone certification Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom). Excellent visual storytelling skills and a strong eye for composition and detail. Ability to work well with others, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively. Strong organizational and file management skills. Organized with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources. Ability to meet deadlines. Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality.
Physical Requirements Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and require a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry multimedia equipment. In addition to walking around the campus with ease, and has excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Other Requirements Ability to lift and carry multimedia equipment (up to 40 lbs). Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for event coverage. Work is performed both in-office and on location, and occasionally on weeknights or weekends. This is a full-time, exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends, and have a varying schedule when required. Performs similar, comparable, or related duties as may be assigned or required. Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
