Waste Management Technician Job Summary:
Pay:
$16/an hour Shift Available:
1st Shift:
7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Collect, segregate, and transport general waste, hazardous waste, recyclables, and compost materials from designated collection points. Operate waste handling equipment such as compactors, balers, forklifts, and waste carts. Monitor and inspect waste containers and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety and environmental protocols. Record and report types and volumes of waste collected; maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance. Assist with the implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs. Safely handle and label hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to established procedures.
Qualifications:
Ability to classify waste according to RCRA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and waste. Customer service skills. Physical Demands / Environmental Conditions Physical ability to tilt back or break ~800 lb. drums onto a dolly. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Pass company physical and drug screen tests. Participate in company medical surveillance program and certified to wear respirators. Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, and hazardous chemicals daily. May require safety equipment and/or precautions.
