Location: The Florida Division Lutz, Florida About this opportunity: Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical accounting functions including financial recordkeeping and reporting; processes billings, invoices, purchase orders, requisitions, checks, check requests, tax reports, payments and/or deposits. Key responsibilities: Posts and tracks payments to ledgers; tracks balances of the same; ensures appropriate staff remain aware of account balances; opens new account files and closes terminated account files in accordance with established procedures. Receives, records, and deposits cash receipts; prepares daily tabulations and reports of cash receipts; distributes receipts to proper funds; makes daily entries into cash receipts ledger. Researches and reconciles accounts to ensure financial documents, correspondence, invoices, payments, spreadsheets, etc. are accurate; resolves accounting problems with outside personal contacts. Performs data entry of financial information to prepare spreadsheet and general ledger programs for bookkeeping and reporting purposes. What we are looking for in you: High school diploma or G.E.D. Two years progressively responsible experience working in a general office with accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
