Key Responsibilities
Provide courteous, prompt service to our guests
Prepare beverage orders for bar and dining areas, adhering to signature recipes
Understand steps of service and consistently execute them with efficiency and grace while maintaining a sense of urgency
Be a menu expert, educating customers on our food & drinks menus, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.
Seek opportunities to inform guests about additional offerings when applicable
Responsible for entering guest orders accurately into POS system (Toast)
Communicate guest requests, including dietary restrictions, to culinary staff
Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
Maintain a positive, outgoing demeanor during service, with guests and co-workers
Be safety-conscious to promote the safety of one’s self, co-workers, and guests at all times
Check that restaurant equipment, including brewing equipment, is operating properly and report any maintenance needs
Interact with genuine and patient hospitality when speaking to vendors and guests; cultivate relationships with regulars
Have a general understanding of Department of Health (DOH) food safety standards
Perform opening and closing duties
Adhere to company policy and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Possess a passion for hospitality, teamwork and exceeding guest expectations
Minimum 1-year serving experience in a high-volume restaurant operation
Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
Prior related experience requiring cash handling, excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing the needs of guests
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers throughout the restaurant
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Must be punctual with scheduled shifts.
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
