SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE (SACC) MISSION

SACC at Peninsula Covenant Church is a licensed after-school child care program and summer day camp serving children from transitional kindergarten (TK) through middle school in the Redwood City School District area. Our mission is to provide an encouraging and safe environment for students to be known and valued, growing as Gods unique masterpieces.

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE

The After School Camp Counselor is a teacher aid who provides supervision, guidance, and support to children in the SACC program. This role includes leading daily enrichment activities, creating a safe and engaging environment, and transporting students to and from the program. The Counselor serves as a role model and contributes to a positive, structured after-school and summer camp experience. PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIP

Under the direct supervision of the School-Aged Child Care Director, the Counselor is responsible for the safety and supervision of their campers. Counselors work with children and their families and represent PCC School Age Child Care to Redwood City families, school personnel and the people who share the PCC campus. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Engage children in enrichment activities that support social, emotional, and faith-based growth Lead group and individual games, arts, lessons and various activities Maintain a safe, organized, clean environment Communicate with families Transportation for children Ensure the safety and well-being of participants Other duties as assigned by the program director REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES

High school diploma or equivalent 1+ year experience working with children CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter certifications (or willingness to obtain within 2 months from the start date) Must adhere to professional conduct and dress code required Passion for youth development and faith-based programming Completed or in progress coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE), psychology, sociology, or related fields, preferred Has completed 6+ units of ECE (Early Childhood Education), preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to physically interact with children, including indoor and outdoor activities, extensive walking, occasional running, kneeling, managing multiple stair sets while maintaining high levels of alertness, concentration, and initiative Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and environments, utilizing sun and rain protection as necessary Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 15-20 pounds frequently. Physically and mentally fit to ensure child safety Clean DMV record; must meet the age requirement for school district driving requirements; and able to drive a 9-seat passenger van Must pass background checks (DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index) TB test and required immunizations SCHEDULE

MondayFriday, approx. 1:006:00 PM with occasional early shifts (e.g., some Thursdays starting at 11:00 AM) during the school year MondayFriday, approx. 9:006:00 PM during summer program
