West Fraser's McDavid, Florida facility is seeking a dedicated Millwright - Level 1.
As a vital part of our high-performance maintenance team, you will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and participate in company-wide continuous improvement by employing troubleshooting and preventative, predictive maintenance strategies. Safety is paramount as you work with various machinery within the mill.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and maintain machinery effectively.
Implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs on equipment.
Repair and maintain heavy industrial machinery, including conveying systems and major machines like debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
Perform welding tasks and operate oxy-acetylene torches.
Utilize basic tools such as grinders, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and air tools.
Assist in moving machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies as necessary.
What You Need to Succeed:
Self-motivated, able to work efficiently under pressure.
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 3 years of proven work experience as a Millwright.
Experience with welding (GMAW and SMAW).
Proficient in using cutting torches (Oxygen/Acetylene).
Skilled in operating and maintaining basic tools like grinders and air tools.
Able to read and interpret drawings and printed manuals.
Understand setups for pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machinery.
Open to working weekends.
Willingness to complete a skills assessment, background check, reference check, drug screen, and physical examination.
