Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift (Direct Hire) Location:
Itasca, IL Pay Range:
$28–$34/hour (OT available, occasional Saturdays) Hours:
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (with some OT, up to 10 hours/week)
About the Role
A busy metal fabrication facility is looking for a
hands-on Maintenance Technician
to join their lean team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys
mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
and wants to make an immediate impact. You’ll handle repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and equipment upgrades in a fast-paced environment with a lot of autonomy.
This is an
immediate-need position
due to an internal promotion, and the right person will have the opportunity to grow quickly as the company expands after a recent acquisition.
What You’ll Do
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment (approx. 50% mechanical / 50% electrical)
Read and interpret electrical schematics to perform repairs and installations
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various machines, conveyors, presses, and systems
Install wiring, conduit, motors, relays, circuit breakers, and control systems
Inspect, dismantle, and rebuild defective machinery and components
Maintain facility infrastructure and ensure equipment is running at peak performance
What We’re Looking For
✅ 2–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (preferably in metal fabrication or manufacturing) ✅ Strong
electrical troubleshooting skills
(motors, conduit, schematics, medium/high voltage) ✅ Solid
mechanical repair experience
(pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, shafts, conveyors) ✅ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment ✅ Comfortable working under an experienced, direct manager
Nice to Have
⭐ Stamping press experience (1000+ tons) ⭐ Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or a related field ⭐ Experience in lean manufacturing environments
