This role performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. The candidate will assist the physician and other medical staff during exams and procedures. Documentation of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams is essential. The position requires maintaining proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures. Retrieving and reviewing previous studies, reports, written orders, and related health information is necessary to ensure timely performance and reporting of ultrasound exams and procedures. Participation in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality indicators as described in the strategic plan is expected. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. The ability to exercise tact, discretion, and sensitivity while maintaining confidentiality is crucial. Essential job functions must be performed successfully in a busy and stressful environment. Learning current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized is necessary. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required. Candidates should be able to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines. Flexibility to work various shifts as scheduled and needed is essential. Regular and sustained attendance is required for this role. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, maintaining a sitting posture for extended periods, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing repetitive movements such as bending and twisting. Fine finger movements and close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures are necessary skills. Candidates may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, various chemicals, and infectious diseases in healthcare settings.
