Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of event operations and ensuring all frontline departments are aligned, equipped, and operating at peak efficiency. This role serves as the primary liaison between the General Manager and departmental staff, ensuring policies and procedures are upheld while maintaining a strong focus on guest experience, safety, and operational flow. A proactive, hands-on leader, the Operations Manager plays a key role in pre-season preparation, nightly quality control, vendor coordination, and staff support. This is a boots-on-the-ground position requiring strong logistical acumen, people management, and a calm, decisive presence under pressure.
Requirements Operational Leadership Serve as the direct supervisor for all operational departments, including parking, ticketing, retail, custodial, guest services, general event staff, and security. Partner with the General Manager to develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for every aspect of the event. Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of operations staff, ensuring comprehensive shift coverage and optimal staffing levels. Approve operational staff timecards and maintain accurate labor tracking. Lead nightly pre-show briefings with department leads to communicate key priorities, updates, and expectations. Act as the primary on-site point of contact for all vendors during build, show, and strike periods. Event Preparation and Execution Oversee the build and strike of event infrastructure in collaboration with department leads and external vendors. Ensure all stations are fully staffed and stocked with necessary materials and supplies before guest arrival. Implement and enforce operational workflows to optimize crowd control, queue management, and emergency access. Monitor guest flow throughout the night, proactively addressing congestion, signage needs, and staff redeployment in real time. Conduct quality control walk-throughs each show night to uphold standards for cleanliness, safety, and guest experience. Communication and Team Support Maintain ongoing communication with the General Manager regarding operational requirements, staff performance, and guest feedback. Work closely with Guest Services to resolve guest concerns or incidents promptly and professionally. Serve as a visible, supportive presence for team members across all departments, fostering morale and encouraging on-the-ground problem-solving1. Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the operations staff. Logistics and Safety Ensure proper placement and maintenance of all event signage, including directional, safety, and informational materials, to facilitate clear guest navigation. Support the General Manager in emergency planning and enforce all safety protocols, including access control, egress pathways, and regulatory compliance. Monitor custodial needs throughout the event, coordinating rapid responses to spills, trash overflow, or restroom issues to maintain a clean and safe environment. Qualifications
Qualifications
Must be 18 and over to apply for this position 3-5 years of experience in live event, theme park, or venue operations, with at least 1 year in a management or supervisory role preferred. Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple departments and shifting priorities. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during peak season. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed. Comfort navigating outdoor and indoor event spaces, including uneven terrain and crowded areas. Working knowledge of staff scheduling platforms, timecard systems, and basic safety protocols.
