Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic
Purchasing Associate
to join our growing Finance team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who's driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The ideal candidate will also emphasize accurate, quality work and possess a strong sense of personal accountability. The Purchasing Associate is tasked with managing purchase order transactions and overseeing supplier creation and maintenance in Oracle Fusion, as well as supporting internal stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills looking to break into biotech.
What you will do:
• Supervise and coordinate supplier onboarding activities for the company, including facilitating the onboarding process through third-party risk management software and ensuring all procedures comply with established company policies and protocols
• Oversee purchase requisitions and efficiently prepare and process purchase orders within the Oracle Fusion ERP system, coordinating with suppliers to confirm receipt of POs and ensure prompt delivery of goods and services in alignment with business needs
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to facilitate comprehensive procure-to-pay processes, conduct root cause analysis on invoice discrepancies, and implement solutions to ensure timely payments
• Deliver outstanding customer service, facilitate end user training, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for Procure-to-Pay process enhancement, ensuring optimal solutions to meet organizational needs
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implementation strategies to realize these savings
What you bring:
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Excellent analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong customer service background
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to perform in dynamic and evolving corporate environment
• Ability to accurately support high volume of transactions and rapidly solve problems as they arise
• Must interact well in a team environment and display a positive customer service attitude
• Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP is a plus

Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description.

This includes base salary and both short- and long-term incentives that are connected to our business strategy and vary based on individual and company performance.
The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $52,441 and $78,662 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
