Role:

Responsible for performing payment solutions activities associated with various delinquent member accounts, including overdrafts, Visa credit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans and real estate loans. Reviews delinquent accounts, determines probable reasons for account status, and contacts members to resolve the delinquencies. Utilizes various techniques, as circumstances indicate, to promptly collect on delinquent accounts.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

E 50% Working Delinquency queues and Charge off/Recovery queues and making outbound calls. E 10% Build member relationships that deliver value and demonstrate that we care. Properly assist with their financial problems and ensure their questions are courteously answered. E 10% Documents all collection actions taken, including telephone conversations, alternative financial arrangements, and correspondence into the appropriate systems. E 5% Assist Branches and related departments as required, and foster a positive environment through delivery of exceptional member experiences. E 5% Keeps management informed of activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems. E 5% Stays informed of changes in collections policies, procedures, and related legal requirements, and performs collections efforts in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures and ensures they are legally compliant. E 5% Perform overrides, skip-a-pays, and skip tracing as needed. E 5% Assist and help train team members as needed, participates in meetings as required. N 5% Other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. To maximize the collection and/or recovery of credit union assets from delinquent or charged -off loans. 2. To maintain accurate and complete records of all collection and recovery activity. 3. To insure that collection activity is both within credit union policy and all relevant regulations. 4. To identify and inform management of potential underwriting problems. 5. To offer/provide assistance in setting up a budget for the member. 6. To stay current and comply with all federal and state regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and all credit union policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.

Education A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills Communication skills, both verbal & written. Good judgement and analytical skills.
