We are seeking a Disa Maintenance Technician to join our team!
This position will help to install, maintain, and adjust all equipment in good repair in the Disa department. They help trouble-shoot equipment to diagnose problems, assists in planning major work projects, help to install and repair simple electrical equipment (such as switches, receptacles, motors, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and electrical aptitude.
This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Zanesville, OH.
Essential duties and responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Repairs machinery and mechanical equipment. Trouble-shoots equipment to diagnose the problem; dismantling the equipment completely or in part and performing the necessary repairs that involve the use of hand tools in replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock or ordering the proper items from the supplier. Reassembles equipment, making proper adjustment to insure proper operation of the equipment.
Installs and repairs simple electrical equipment such as switches, receptacles, motors and simple conduct systems. Requires the use of electrician’s hand tools. May assist Electricians or engineers on more complex electrical maintenance.
Reads blueprints of machinery and equipment to determine location of machinery parts, their and proper adjustment.
Builds jigs and fixture as required.
Keeps buildings and structures in repair.
Installs and repairs piping systems such as water, steam, and compressed air. Uses plumbers’ tools and equipment to perform required work.
Makes repair parts as needed using machine tools such as: lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
Uses micrometers and other standard measuring instruments to work to specified tolerances to assure proper fit and operation of the repair part.
Installs machinery and equipment including rigging, moving, placement, and leveling of equipment prior to its hookup for operation.
The Ideal Candidate will have a knowledge of:
PLC Troubleshooting.
Knowledge of CNC equipment
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and equipment.
Knowledge of motor controls
Soldering and/or welding is a plus
Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidates must pass written aptitude test.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in industrial maintenance or related field.
Experience using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
Basic computer skills.
