About the Role The Assistant Director of Support Services plays a vital leadership role in ensuring comprehensive and coordinated support for justice-involved youth and their families. This position is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and quality assurance of support services that promote youth development, rehabilitation, and long-term success. These services include structured programming, essential life skills development, job preparedness, and emotional and behavioral health support.

Working in close partnership with program leadership, clinical teams, and community partners, the Assistant Director ensures youth are fully engaged and actively participating in programming that is trauma-informed, culturally competent, and aligned with best practices in youth justice and family services.

What You’ll Do • Supervise and provide leadership to a multidisciplinary support team including: o Two Recreation Specialists o Two School Support Staff o One Career Specialist and one Career Aid o Program Support Team members • Collaborate with program leadership to proactively identify and respond to youth-specific and programmatic needs. • Ensure all support services are integrated into daily programming and discharge planning processes. • Monitor and enhance the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of support services. • Support staff development through training, performance evaluation, coaching, and feedback. • Communicate regularly with the Director of Residential Services regarding: o Emerging youth needs and trends o Progress on support service initiatives o Gaps in services or resource needs • Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to ensure youth are well engaged during their stay and are prepared for successful reintegration upon discharge. • Participate in case conferences, planning meetings, and other collaborative processes as needed. • Support data collection and reporting related to support services and program outcomes.

Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, youth development, or a related field (master’s preferred) • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in youth services, residential programming, or a similar setting • At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines • Commitment to trauma-informed, youth-centered practices Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Work Environment: Field/Corporate Office

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, work hours are 9:30 am - 5:30 pm.

Additional Requirements: · Authorized to work in the U.S. · Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week. · Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)

Physical Requirements : Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to operation of

computers/phones/fax/printer/copy

machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Rising Ground.
