JOB SUMMARY This position repairs and maintains the assigned machinery and mechanical equipment ensuring at all times that the company safety rules are followed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures

Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility

Performs preventive maintenance operations on machinery according to schedules

Installs, rebuilds and repairs a wide variety of machines as directed by the Maintenance Manager/supervisor

Services and maintains a limited range of building and production equipment following procedures

Analyzes, detects, and determines the nature of the problem and provides input as to the extent of the repairs required. Troubleshoots to and selects materials needed for the repairs.

Notifies Maintenance Manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken

Assembles, replaces or refits parts as warranted

Tear down and rebuild presses as needed to repair dies

Assists with building repairs

Replace and refit parts

Instructs and provides technical assistance to lower level mechanics as required

Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures among the maintenance mechanics at all times.

All other duties as requested or assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Industrial mechanical skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures. Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, drill press, and other related industrial repair equipment

Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude

Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanish helpful)

Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions

Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision

Math skills and computer skills

Industrial electrical skills preferred

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associates Degree and/or post-high school technical training highly desired, or equivalent experience

2 + years of related experience required - in a manufacturing environment preferred

2 + years tearing down and rebuilding presses

2 + exp with tooling and dies

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable

Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out

Prolong standing or in stationary position

Complete repetitive movements

Bend and/or twist

Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds

Ability to move or traverse about the facilities

Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions

Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
