Position Summary As a strategic procurement leader at Empower Pharmacy, the Senior Procurement Specialist drives sourcing excellence across critical categories such as active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), raw materials, packaging, and contract services. This role ensures supply continuity, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance while enabling innovative product development and commercialization through strong supplier partnerships. By optimizing total cost of ownership and strengthening Empower's global supply network, this position directly supports our mission to expand access to quality, affordable medications. Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and leads sourcing strategies across APIs, raw materials, packaging, and contract services to ensure a secure and cost-effective supply chain aligned with business needs. Negotiates contracts, supplier agreements, and service terms while managing long-term supplier performance and implementing risk mitigation strategies. Collaborates with Research and Development, Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure supplier qualification and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration, and Drug Enforcement Administration requirements. Supports new product introductions, technical transfers, and supply chain readiness for commercialization through proactive procurement planning and stakeholder alignment. Champions procurement process optimization by integrating automation tools, digital systems, and data-driven insights to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and drive continuous improvement. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. Strong leadership, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills with the ability to manage high-value negotiations, influence decisions, and drive sourcing initiatives. Proficient in Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning systems, with advanced Excel and digital sourcing tools experience, and deep understanding of regulatory compliance, scientific terminology, and procurement workflows.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation within a cGMP, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment, including complex supplier management. Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience required; master's degree or Master of Business Administration preferred. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM); Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP); Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM); Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
