The Cisneros Institute's signature programming and events help participants of all ages grow into citizen scholars, ready to engage, lead and make a difference in the world. For partners, media and policymakers, the Cisneros Institute is the nexus of scholarship and community engagement, offering data-driven research and analysis that facilitates creative approaches to the most pressing contemporary policy issues.
Position Specific Summary
The Institute seeks a graduate student with a background in communications, graphic design, and/or website management to help promote the exciting programming that the Cisneros Institute executes, as well as to support with innovative ways to share the stories and accomplishments of our Scholars.
Duties Include: Create visual content and marketing materials including logos, flyers, and signage Create content for various communication channels, including email, newsletter, blog posts, and social media posts Develop graphics, images, videos, and designs using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design software Prepare rough concept presentations to share with the team for feedback Test graphics across various media and review final graphic designs for errors before publishing Ensure final graphics and layouts abide by brand design guidelines Work with Institute leadership to create communications templates Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs
Standard Position Description
The student will manage and/or design marketing and communication strategies and content for departments and/or special events. Tasks may include: Planning, creating, managing and executing marketing plans and campaigns, website resources, digital content and design, and/or managing of social media accounts. While completing work with a high degree of discretion, the student will work within organization marketing standards and guidelines. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications
Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingualism (Spanish-English), strong graphic design skills, website management experience, photography experience, strong written communication skills, ability to multitask.
