leads the charge in attracting, retaining, and engaging our incredible members. This management role is all about blending strategy, creativity, and people skills to elevate the member experience and grow our CPA community. You'll wear a few hats: team leader, strategist, relationship-builder, and data wizard. You’ll collaborate across departments, work with the best and brightest in the profession, and be a key voice in shaping the future of accounting in Oklahoma. This highly visible role requires professionalism, initiative, and travel availability. Occasional evening and weekend commitments are expected. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Membership Growth & Engagement Develop and lead a long-term membership strategy focused on recruitment, engagement, and retention. Use research and data to evaluate member needs, satisfaction, and trends, and adjust strategies accordingly. Lead cross-departmental collaboration to increase the value of OSCPA membership. Oversee the membership billing and renewal process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and high retention rates. Create and lead programs such as firm visits and targeted outreach to strengthen relationships across member categories. Manage the Membership Engagement Specialist, including goal-setting, mentoring, training, and performance evaluation. Cultivate a high-performing membership team culture that values innovation, responsiveness, and accountability. Coordinate team efforts with other departments to streamline member services and deliver a cohesive experience. Student Initiatives Oversee planning and execution of college and high school student engagement events including campus visits and classroom presentations. Lead student and faculty outreach across campuses to grow the future CPA pipeline. Serve as a visible and credible representative of the CPA profession and OSCPA at education-focused events. Data & Reporting Ensure strong data integrity in the association management system (AMS); oversee data entry, clean-up, and optimization. Track and analyze key metrics related to membership acquisition, retention, and engagement. Provide monthly membership reports and strategic insights to executive leadership and the Board. Department Oversight Serve as staff liaison for several committees while guiding them in aligning their efforts with OSCPA’s strategic priorities, and support logistics, communications, and follow-up. Develop and manage the membership department budget. Monitor return on investment (ROI) of engagement efforts, member programs, and staff resources. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CAE) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in membership, strategy, or nonprofit/association management. Minimum of 2–3 years of direct people management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews. Proven ability to develop and implement membership growth and engagement strategies. Strong analytical skills with experience using CRM/AMS systems and generating actionable insights from data. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Confident public speaker with a high degree of professionalism and presence. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with association management software is a plus. Ability to travel within Oklahoma and occasionally out-of-state, as needed. Seniority level
