Job Description Description Mad Fish Digital is seeking a Senior Employee Experience Manager who will lead both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day people operations. This dual-focused role combines high-level organizational development with hands-on employee support, making you the cornerstone of our team's success and well-being. This role will play a critical part in integrating Mad Fish's employee experience processes with our recently acquired partner, Grady Britton. You'll have the unique opportunity to shape our combined organization's culture, systems, and growth trajectory. While Mad Fish operates as a remote-first company, this role plays a key part in supporting the successful integration of our two brands. To foster collaboration and alignment, we ask that you work onsite at our shared Portland, OR office at least two days per week. An approach also followed by both Mad Fish and Grady Britton leadership. About You You have 6-8 years of experience as a manager in human resources You can effectively influence and partner with senior leadership on organizational design and effectiveness You have experience developing and implementing change management strategies, particularly during periods of organizational transformation You understand how to navigate complex organizational dynamics and post-merger integration You provide strategic guidance while making thoughtful decisions that balance company policies, organizational values, and individual needs You build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences You care deeply that all employees feel valued and have the resources to do their best work You believe justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion belong in the workplace and advocate for all team members You are an excellent communicator, leading everything from 1:1 employee conversations to executive-level reporting You thrive in collaborative environments with a creative, solutions-focused mindset You have comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations You are proficient in using HRIS and performance management tools to streamline processes You can navigate a wide range of benefit types and platforms You are highly organized, able to coordinate schedules, document conversations, and track deadlines You perform well in fast-paced settings with strong prioritization and time management skills Past experience with post-merger integration and culture alignment Professional services company experience preferred; creative or performance marketing agency experience highly desirable Key Responsibilities What You'll Do Drive post-merger integration: Partner with leadership to develop and execute integration strategies that align cultures and systems Lead organizational development: Provide strategic guidance on organizational design, effectiveness, and workforce planning Champion change management: Lead communications and initiatives that support organizational transformation Develop metrics and reporting: Track integration success, employee sentiment, and HR effectiveness Serve as the primary HR contact for all employee experience and HR-related questions and needs Build collaborative relationships with each employee through regular check-ins and feedback sessions Support team integration and culture-building initiatives across the combined organization Identify and address experience gaps by working with leadership to develop improved systems and processes Lead with equity and inclusion in all situations, ensuring all team members feel valued and supported Lead onboarding and offboarding: Ensure seamless experiences from hiring through HR documentation and team integration, including performance improvement plans and terminations Oversee performance management: Facilitate reviews through 15Five, promoting growth, feedback, and development Administer benefits programs: Manage the company's benefits suite and assist employees with questions Manage full-cycle recruiting: Source candidates, conduct interviews, and collaborate with managers to extend offers Ensure legal compliance: Maintain adherence to federal and state employment laws Coordinate with accounting: Communicate compensation adjustments and 401(k) changes for accurate, timely implementation Maintain employment records: Create and manage all files including performance reviews, benefits, and legal documentation Benefits & Perks Mad Fish Digital offers a comprehensive benefits package and 401(k) contributions, flexible PTO (we mean it – our employees take 20+ days per year, no questions asked), family leave, and a remote work or health & wellness monthly reimbursement.
