A respected Phoenix-based law firm specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare defense litigation, is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join its growing and highly skilled legal team. This is a full-scope litigation role handling high-value, complex med-mal defense cases from intake through trial. Candidates will collaborate closely with a dedicated support team of legal nurse consultants and paralegals. The firm is looking for a sharp, ambitious litigator who thrives in fast-paced environments and is ready to become a future leader within the organization.
Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 20–30 active medical malpractice defense matters Handle all aspects of litigation from intake to resolution Collaborate with partners, associates, legal nurse consultants, and paralegals as part of a case team Maintain accurate billing in Tabs and calendar case events in Time Matters Contribute to the firm’s strong reputation by upholding high ethical and professional standards
Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney Requirements
3–5+ years of litigation experience Must be barred in Arizona Strong deposition experience, including with expert witnesses Experience with full litigation cycle: pleadings, disclosures, discovery, pre-trial, and trial Background in medical malpractice defense or personal injury/insurance defense highly preferred Must be committed to the med-mal practice area and willing to learn its complexities Ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, and handle high-volume caseloads under pressure Strong legal writing and analytical skills No current caseload preferred, as this role supports an already full docket
