Job Description
As the Aquatics Director for the YMCA of the Seacoast, youll be responsible for the oversight, directing, budgeting and evaluation of the related programs. This position oversees one indoor and two outside seasonal pools, overseeing approximately 30 team members.
This individual should have experience managing teams, facilitating programs, building community connections, and be driven by innovation with a focus on risk-management.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, candidates should bring a background of progressive aquatics experience including management of team members and the ability to successfully prioritize and respond to a variety of tasks such as programs and emergency response measures Candidates should have a minimum of four years experience leading Aquatics teams and/or related programs Current Lifeguard Certification and current First Aid/CPR for the Professional Rescuer Current Lifeguard Instructor Certification, or ability to become certified within three months of hire Candidates should bring experience and an understanding of administrative and human relations skills as they would apply to an Aquatics department A bachelors degree is recommended though not required
Essential Functions
Recruit, hire, train and manage a staff team to meet the needs of the department and branch Oversee team development to meet personal, branch and Association goals Develop and implement aquatics programming, to include water exercise classes, swim lessons, and specialty programming Oversee daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health & safety regulations and best practices Ensure proper maintenance of pool and related areas in collaboration with the Facilities Director Manage the administrative needs of the Aquatics department, including staff scheduling, program development, member communication, supply ordering, and maintenance of records Manage the department budget Regular direct program hours and ability to attend to staffing needs of the department Seniority level
