$95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr About The Payroll Manager Opportunity
Our client is a mission-driven organization, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead their payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of multi-state payrolls. This role requires strong leadership, technical payroll expertise, and the ability to manage complex compensation structures in a fast-paced environment.
As Payroll Manager, you will oversee a team of payroll professionals and be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Legal to drive process improvements and support company growth.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state workforce. Supervise and mentor a team of payroll specialists, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Review and process complex compensation calculations including bonuses, commissions, overtime, and incentive programs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws and ensure payroll compliance. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related audits, reporting, and reconciliations. Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance payroll operations. Manage relationships with payroll vendors and external auditors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required). 8+ years of payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Proven experience managing multi-state payroll for a large or complex organization. Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, garnishments, benefits deductions, and compliance standards. Proficient in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar). Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity. A strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and deep expertise in multi-state payroll operations
Salary range: $95K-115K, depending on experience
