Job Description
Eurofins PSS is seeking an Analytical Development Scientist to support a client focused on advancing biologics, including cutting-edge cell and gene therapies. This role plays a key part in developing and optimizing analytical assays to ensure the consistency, safety, and efficacy of novel therapies across the development pipeline.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams in analytical development, bioprocessing, formulation, and data science to support both manufacturing and quality control activities.
Key Responsibilities
Design, optimize, and execute bioanalytical assays to support process development, in-process testing, and lot release.
Perform sample analysis using platforms such as flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR (qPCR/dPCR), and cell-based assays.
Troubleshoot assay performance and interpret complex experimental data.
Support assay qualification, validation, and lifecycle management to ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to align analytical strategies with project goals.
Contribute to preclinical study support by aligning assay development with experimental objectives.
Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support assay transfer and technical communication with CDMOs, including documentation and troubleshooting.
Maintain lab infrastructure, including reagents, reference materials, and equipment.
Author protocols, reports, and SOPs; stay current with emerging technologies and scientific advancements.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field with 4+ years of industry experience.
Strong expertise in qPCR and dPCR assay development.
Proficient in multicolor flow cytometry for phenotyping and functional assays.
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, including iPSCs, tumor/cancer lines, and primary cells.
Skilled in developing and optimizing complex bioanalytical assays.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex datasets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible and dependable; open to occasional weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in a life science or related field.
Specialized experience in ddPCR assay design for cell-based systems.
Expertise in designing flow cytometry panels for functional readouts (e.g., apoptosis, proliferation).
Experience with iPSC culture and differentiation.
Familiarity with ICH guidelines for assay qualification and validation.
Proficiency with digital lab tools (e.g., FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Benchling, SharePoint, Veeva).
Strong organizational and time-management skills in fast-paced environments.
