Position Summary This position plays a key role in our efforts by providing data and decision support to the organization through statistical modeling and analysis to develop metrics, reports, and visualizations of trends and patterns. Works with the organization and business end-users to understand data and analysis needs. Partners with development and data management roles to identify and capture data required from internal and external sources. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and interpret data. Develop, implement, and enhance high-impact business process improvement projects. Provide information and recommendations to leadership on both regular and ad-hoc basis. Prepare regular reports for management. Ensure that information systems and resources are aligned to support business objectives. Use data visualization tools to generate dashboards, reports, and presentations that aid in data storytelling and understanding of trends and patterns. Create and maintain statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc data review and analysis. Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience as a data analyst with data manipulation and interpretation skills. High business acumen to work with business owners and deliver actionable analysis. Proficiency in analytics tools and scripting languages like Python or R. Experience with business intelligence reporting tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. Excel macro writing skills and VBA. Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and experience with graph databases and query languages. Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS. Experience with Agile development methodologies. Knowledge and Skills Proficiency with Excel, VBA, Macros, SQL, Graph Databases, Python, R, etc. Experience with Natural Language Processing and AI systems is a plus. Technical skills in Cloud Services, Microservices, API Management, Azure, and AWS. Strong verbal and written communication skills and collaborative abilities. Comfortable working in an Agile environment. Physical Demands Employees must meet physical requirements such as sitting, standing, writing, reviewing, typing reports, and operating a PC. May involve travel and lifting up to 15 pounds. Visual requirements include distant, close, and color vision, and ability to focus. Work Environment Includes work inside/outside the office, travel to other locations, possibly shipboard environments with high noise levels.
