We’re seeking a General Manager / Sales Director who can operate at the intersection of hospitality and retail—someone who will run the Emporium the way one might run a great hotel lobby: with warmth, instinct, and a deep understanding of people, aesthetics, and sales.
Role Overview
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on making people feel welcome while also driving performance and sales across a multifaceted luxury environment. You will oversee daily operations at the Emporium and serve as the key liaison between the space and the broader team—acting as host, brand steward, sales strategist, and operational lead. This person will also work closely with the design studio and contribute to cross-functional programming, product launches, and cultural events.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic creative environment and is eager to contribute meaningfully to the growth of an evolving brand.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Brand Stewardship
Drive sales across all categories: fashion, home, lighting, furniture, books, and curated collaborations Cultivate relationships with clients, interior designers, and cultural tastemakers Host and manage private shopping appointments, events, and activations Train and manage retail associates and hospitality sta? to embody the brand tone and aesthetic Ensure the Emporium reflects a high-touch, editorial brand experience at all times
Hospitality & Café Oversight
Oversee F&B programming in partnership with café partners and baristas Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere Curate the mood and pace of the space to feel more like a salon than a store
Operations & Coordination
Manage scheduling, opening/closing procedures, and inventory oversight Liaise with the brand studio team to coordinate new product rollouts, VM, and storytelling Collaborate on event planning, press previews, and visiting brand takeovers Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and customer feedback to ensure continuous improvement
Qualifications
5–7 years of experience in a customer-facing leadership role in retail, hospitality, or lifestyle brands A refined understanding of luxury and design, with strong taste and cultural awareness Demonstrated ability to drive sales while maintaining brand integrity Experience managing a team and training for service excellence Comfort with F&B operations, café environments, and light event planning Energetic, emotionally intelligent, and instinctively hospitable Poised under pressure and naturally at ease with a diverse clientele
