We are seeking a versatile, proactive, and experienced general operations consultant. In this role, you will support the Cities LAB by leading the design, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of pilot projects and knowledge products related to urban planning, housing finance, and slum upgrading. You will be part of the IDB Cities Lab, under CSD/HUD, reporting to the Cities Lab Coordinator. The main goal is to promote civic innovation and urban experimentation across Latin America and the Caribbean through knowledge sharing and pilot projects aimed at sustainable, inclusive, and equitable urban development. Key Responsibilities
Manage operational, administrative, and strategic aspects of urban innovation projects. Engage in technical dialogues with local authorities, consultants, and firms to ensure project success. Develop and implement capacity-building initiatives, including workshops and mentoring. Create knowledge products such as podcasts, publications, and learning materials on urban innovation topics. Support technical dialogues with private sector, IDB specialists, and government counterparts to foster urban solutions. Design, execute, and evaluate technical cooperation projects related to urban development and housing policies. Participate in missions and workshops, contributing technical expertise. Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in urban planning, development, public policy, or related fields. Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in urban development within Latin America and the Caribbean. Experience with international organizations, public sector, or think tanks preferred. Proficiency in Spanish and English; knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus. Additional Requirements
Citizenship in one of the IDB member countries; assistance with relocation may be available. No family members working at IDB or related entities. Contract Details
