Summary:
The Exam Accommodations Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating and implementing testing accommodations for students with disabilities in the Academic Support and Access Center (ASAC) to ensure compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). This position is responsible for and coordinates the day-to-day activities and logistics related to implementing testing accommodations including scheduling all student exams and ensuring exam accessibility. The Coordinator collaborates with ASAC staff and campus partners to determine procedures and policies, and communicates the same to the students and faculty who use them. This position works extensively with faculty to administer exams equitably. The Coordinator provides back-up support with interpretive services, note-taking accommodations, alternative text, and captioning services. The Coordinator is responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling and supervising graduate assistants and test proctors,. The position oversees the payment process for proctors and tracks expenditures. The Coordinator collects data and reports on accommodation statistics.
Essential Functions
Administrative Ensures student testing accommodations are properly implemented in full compliance of the ADA. Oversees designated functions within the accommodations office including all student exam scheduling. Collaborates with the Assistant Director and second Accommodations Coordinator to determine and communicate policies and procedures. Primarily responsible for large-scale major accommodated testing events at the end of the fall and spring semesters. Fully cross-trains with the second Accommodations Coordinator and fills in for that position as needed. Collects data and reports monthly and annually on accommodations statistics. Provides administrative support for ASAC operations, as needed. Responsible for supporting the work of the Assistant Director, as needed. Outreach and Consultation Serves as the first point of contact for students and faculty regarding the accessible implementation of exams. Extensively communicates with faculty regarding exam procurement and administration. Communicates procedures and policies as needed to students and faculty. Problem-solves issues with respect to implementing testing accommodations. Works with campus partners to ensure access to all university programs and services. Supervision Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and supervising three Graduate Assistants and over 40 test proctors. Under direction of the Assistant Director, oversees the payment process for proctors and tracks expenditures. Other Duties As Assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
Full-Time. 35 hours per week; additional hours may be required at times. Schedule coordination with other Accommodations Coordinators is essential.
Salary Range
$24.04 - $25.79 per hour.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree with some professional experience. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Ability to problem-solve and multi-task under pressure. Ability to use and learn software programs used in tracking data and managing student information. Attention to detail.
Preferred Education And Experience
A flexible schedule is preferred for this position. Knowledge of or interest in assistive technology preferred. Experience in a post-secondary setting and familiarity with individuals with disabilities strongly desired.
