Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Client Technical Product Owner for the OnePay is responsible for guiding the design and delivery of cutting-edge technology solutions. This role collaborates closely with the client, Agile teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape architecture from concept through to post-production validation. This role also assesses existing systems, recommends scalable and effective designs, and leads the integration of innovative solutions—balancing enterprise goals with technical requirements.

Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients, agile teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver architectural guidance across all phases of the project or development lifecycle Identify and advocate for reusable design patterns and solutions to accelerate development cycles and ensure consistent high-quality delivery Lead the client, agile teams, and cross functional stakeholders to seamlessly integrate recommended solutions into the production environment, and monitor post-release to ensure success Deliver cutting-edge technology solutions Engage early in the project lifecycle and maintain involvement through post-production validation Assess the existing systems architecture and collaborate to recommend solutions that enhance system effectiveness Identify the most suitable technologies for each challenge, carefully balancing the architectural requirements with the enterprise’s business objectives Provide critical subject matter expertise of partner environment and processes Champion innovation by exploring creative approaches to overcome roadblocks, transforming “no” into “how” without compromising regulatory, security or operational standards Assist as On-Call point of contact as part of a rotation schedule to assist with production issues Travel to Synchrony and client locations as needed to Lead discovery sessions, project kick-off meetings, work-out sessions, etc. Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma / GED and 7+ years of Technology experience in the credit card, financial services, or technology industries Minimum 4 years of experience in application architecture and design Minimum 4 years of experience in managing a solution architecture function. Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools, to troubleshoot incidents and identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution. Strong analytical and technical skills Strong knowledge and working experience with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and related document/testing software (i.e. Postman, Swagger) and file transfers Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). Proven experience in problem solving and negotiated solutions Ability to travel

Familiarity with data encryption/PII data protection standards, and related technologies.
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is
110,000.00 - 185,000.00
USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements
You must be 18 years or older You must have a high school diploma or equivalent You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
