About Us
Welcome to Merchant Guild, where passion meets purpose!
We are a consulting and support agency dedicated to empowering the trading card game (TCG) and tabletop gaming industry.
Our mission is not just to grow sales but to ignite the spirit of adventure within the hobby ecosystem, helping local game stores thrive.
Through tailored strategies, market insights, and hands-on support, we equip retailers, distributors, and publishers to embrace the exciting future of gaming.
Join us in shaping an industry where collaboration, creativity, and opportunity drive lasting success.
We’re seeking a hands-on, people-focused HR Partner to support our growing Merchant Guild organization. In this role, you'll blend strategic partnership with heavy day-to-day administrative coordination to ensure smooth, effective HR support. If you're a proactive team player who thrives on keeping things organized and running smoothly while contributing to a people-first culture, this is your opportunity to grow with a high-energy, customer-focused team.
Responsibilities
HR Support
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for the Merchant Guild team, providing day-to-day support across employee relations, onboarding, performance, and engagement. Manage Merchant Guild-specific tasks within HR platforms (e.g., Deel, UKG). Advise leaders on people-related decisions aligned with business priorities. Support recruitment logistics and onboarding preparation for contractors participating in trade shows and events.
Trade Show & Event Support
Travel to key events and trade shows as the on-site HR representative. Support staffing logistics, event preparation, and contractor/employee engagement. Conduct post-event debriefs to identify improvements and prepare for future events.
Contractor Management & Documentation
Own end-to-end contractor coordination and administration—from onboarding and classification to documentation and offboarding. Manage the end-to-end timecard review process for all contractors. Ensure contractor agreements and policies are compliant, current, and aligned with legal and company standards. Maintain up-to-date records related to contractor status, agreements, and assignments.
Process Development & Document Creation
Build and refine documentation and templates that support scale and consistency across Merchant Guild operations. Identify workflow gaps and propose HR solutions tailored to Merchant Guild’s needs. Champion process efficiency while ensuring alignment with company-wide standards and compliance.
Skills And Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 3+ years of HR generalist or business partner experience, ideally in a fast-paced, field-based, or event-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and external talent in compliance with internal policies and local labor regulations. Willingness and flexibility to travel to industry events and trade shows as needed. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and experience with HR systems (e.g., UKG, Deel) and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office). A love for trading card games (TCG) is a plus!
