A well-established utility contractor specializing in
transmission and distribution (T&D)
infrastructure is seeking a skilled
Electrical Estimator
to support its growing portfolio of high-voltage and distribution projects. This is a key role within the preconstruction team, focused on delivering accurate, competitive estimates for overhead, underground, and substation utility work. As the demand for modern, resilient electrical infrastructure increases, we're enhancing our estimating capabilities to remain at the forefront of utility construction. Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed takeoffs and develop cost estimates for electric
transmission, distribution, and substation
projects in accordance with internal standards Source and evaluate pricing from approved
material vendors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers Compile bid packages and summary sheets for review by management, ensuring all project-specific variables are captured Submit scope letters, bid forms, and required documents with accuracy and attention to deadlines Generate
RFIs
to clarify design intent or missing data prior to bid Collaborate with field operations and project management during
turnover meetings
and handoff processes Conduct site visits as needed to support estimate development and risk analysis Work independently or collaboratively to meet critical proposal timelines Qualifications: Minimum 7
years of experience in electrical estimating , preferably within utility-scale T&D projects Familiarity with
NEC Proven ability to read and interpret
utility plans, one-line diagrams, and construction drawings Strong analytical skills for cost modelling, scope analysis, and risk assessment Proficient in
Microsoft Office Suite ; experience with
ConEst
or similar estimating software is a plus Knowledge of
regional utility standards
and pricing structures preferred Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with vendors, engineers, and field teams Salary range:
